Indepth Training on New Criminal Procedure Law for ATPD Prosecutors

On August 17, 2014, AJO conducted Training Program Closing and Certificate Distribution Ceremony at the end of a five days training course for ATPD prosecutros on New Criminal Procedure Code. A total of 13 Prosecutors participated in the training focusing on topics such as Detection, Prosecution, Testimony, Trial and Nullity of Proceedings. This training program was exclusibely designed for the professional members of Internal and External Security Department based in Kabul commenced from 11th to 17th August 2014.

Genral. Abdul Salam Esmati, Head of Appeal Prosecution, Dr. Wadir Safi, Vice President/AJO, Ms. Kathrine Richardson, Head of Counter Terrorism/FCO/British Embassy and Prof. Nasirullah Khalid, Head of Training Department/AJO attended the closing ceremony.

Gen. Abdul Salam Esmati thanked AJO for conducting such high standard and useful trainings for ATPD. He also thanked British Embassy for the financial support of these training programs. He added these training programs are very beneficial for prosecutors and is a great opportunity for participants to accumulate as much knowledge as possible. He requested continuing these trainings in future in order to train all prosecutors of ATPD including Kabul and provinces.

Ms. Kathrine Richardson thanked AJO for conducting a successful training program on New CPC. She emphaised on the imporatance of the law and understanding it and said that these trainings will help prosecutors professionaly solve the cases.

Dr. Wadir Safi also congratulated all participants for completing the training program. He talked on the importance and fruitfulness of the trainings and how the contents can contribution in better implementation of the law and processing the cases.

On behalf of the training participants, Prosecutor Ajmal thanked AJO for organizing such effective and utile training program. He added, we have gained a lot from these trainings and we want AJO and British Embassy to keep these trainings going on.
